SPOKANE  VALLEY, Wash. - A 65-year-old man shot by Spokane Valley Police remains hospitalized.

Investigators said the officers were responding to a domestic violence call Saturday night at the RoostApartments near Argonne and Broadway.

When authorities arrived they say the man confronted them with a handgun and forced officers to fire their weapons at the suspect.

Paramedics rushed the man to Sacred Heart Medical Center, where he's being treated for gunshot wounds.

One neighbor told KREM 2 News that the whole event lasted “probably less than 10 seconds, it was 6 shots off, so i mean it was very quick."

Spokane Police are investigating the incident since Spokane Valley Police officers were involved.
