SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash.—A K9 with the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office helped bring down a wanted felon who tried to flee deputies.

Authorities credited Laslo the K9 with catching Bryan Bewick, 27, on Wednesday in Spokane Valley.

Deputies said the arrest began with an attempted traffic stop near Sprague and Tschirley around 2:00 a.m. The deputy tried to stop Bewick’s vehicle when he failed to stop at a stop sign near Laberry and Barker. The driver refused to stop, sped off, and eventually hit a fence according to authorities.

Laslo caught Bewick when he tried to run from the scene.

Prior to Bewick’s arrest, his driving status was suspended in the 2nd degree and that he had a felony warrant for vehicle theft for his arrest. Authorities said he now faces additional charges for eluding, resisting arrest, obstruction, and hit and run.
