SPOKANE, Wash. -- A handful of car owners on the South Hill woke up to find their cars vandalized Saturday morning.

Cars were spray painted on a block of 34th between Regal and Ray.

George Skinner found streaks of white paint across his escalade and quickly realized his car wasn't the only one that had been tagged.

"I looked down the block and almost every car on the street was spray painted," said Skinner.

Jessica Specht found some specs on her door handle.

"I was surprised. I thought moving up here we wouldn't have to worry about that kind of thing," Specht said. "It makes you think twice about making sure all of your doors are locked and about parking out in the street."

After calling Crime Check to report the vandalism, Skinner looked up a solution online.

"The solution if you ever get your car painted is non-acetone nail polish,” Skinner said. “Comes off completely."

It only took him a few minutes to scrub the paint off his and his neighbor's cars.

Though the damage is gone, he can't understand why someone would want to do this in the first place.

“I'm still smiling because it's off my car but I hope the individuals who did it get caught and are held responsible."

Crime Check says crimes like this are not uncommon. People report damage to their cars every day.

Anyone with information about the incident was asked to call Crime Check.
