SPOKANE, Wash. -- Authorities said the owner of two local car washes called in to report that someone stole two metal grates out of each of his car washes on Wednesday and Friday.
The owner pulled surveillance footage of the suspect and his vehicle at each business and gave it to police.
On Friday, police got a call from Pacific Steel and Recycling after an alert employee noticed the car wash grates had been brought in by Norman Stearns, 26.
When officers were responding to that call, Stearns returned to the recycling center with more items.
Stearns was arrested and booked into jail for two counts of Second Degree Burglary and two counts of First Degree Trafficking in Stolen Property.
