GRAND COULEE, Wash. -- A semi truck crashed into a convenience store Monday morning near Highway 155 and Highway 174.

Store employees said the driver parked on a hillside near the Jack’s Four Corner mart around 6:30 a.m. The driver went inside the store at the 76 gas station to grab breakfast and his truck began rolling away. The truck rolled toward the store and crashed through the wall. The cab of the semi was lodged inside the store.

Police told KREM 2 News that the semi was not in gear. They believe the brake did not work. Nobody was injured when the semi slammed into the store according to officers.

Employees said a construction company from Grand Coulee is working to secure the store. The semi truck belongs to an amusement company, Paradise Amusements Incorporated, from Coeur d’Alene.
