SKAGIT COUNTY, Wash. – A school bus with 36 children on board rolled over Wednesday afternoon, but all the kids on board just have minor bumps and bruises.

The accident happened around 4 p.m. near the intersection of Buckland Road and Nelson Road near Conway, south of Mount Vernon.

The school bus was driven by a 41-year-old female substitute bus driver for the Conway School District. She had been on the job for only two days.

The bus has come from Conway School to take the children home.

The children ranged from 5 to 14 years old and suffered only minor bumps and bruises, according to aid crews.

Investigators say the substitute driver was momentarily distracted when she looked down at her route map, taking her eyes off the road.

No other vehicles were involved.

The Skagit County Sheriff's Office will determine if the driver will be cited.
