SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. -- SWAT was called in to help search a home in Spokane Valley Wednesday.

A search warrant was carried out on N. Sommer Ct., near Rich E. Rich Ave. Authorities said the warrant was issued in an investigation into stolen property, mainly firearms.

Officials said Kregg A. Hoyt, 31, was arrested for Residential Burglary, 2nd Degree Theft, 2-counts of Theft of a Firearm, 2-counts of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Trafficking in Stolen Property and two felony warrants.

Detectives recovered ten firearms inside Hoyt’s vehicle, four of which were confirmed to have been stolen in two separate burglaries.  Officials said the others were believed to have been stolen as well.  Detectives also recovered a large amount of ammunition, methamphetamine, OxyContin and numerous other items believed to be stolen.

Undercover detectives began their search just before noon Wednesday.

The home was later cleared and several people were detained, officials said. According to investigators, the majority of those people were expected to be released.

The investigation was ongoing on Thursday and detectives said they fully expected to link Hoyt to additional crimes.
