Sgt. Gilmore was placed on administrative leave in January after a private citizen made an allegation against him. Spokane Police Ombudsman, Tim Burns had called the allegations against him “serious.”
Officials did not release details of that investigation but KREM 2 News was told the investigation had not been completed at the time of Gilmore’s resignation.
Sgt. Gilmore was a 25-year-veteran. He was recently promoted from detective to Sergeant and was in charge of the Special Victims Unit, which typically handles all sex crimes.
