SPOKANE, Wash. -- Spokane Police Wednesday asked people to be on the lookout for totes stolen from local Walgreens shops.
Police spokespeople said on two separate occasions recently, "bizarre" burglaries took place at two different Walgreens stores in the area. Sometime in April, the Walgreens at N. Division and E. Lincoln had a number of empty plastic merchandise totes stolen, authorities said. Then, on May 6, the Walgreens near E. Empire and N. Division reported they, too, had plastic totes stolen.
According to investigators, During the May 6 robbery, an enclosed area at the back of the store was broken into and approximately 300 of the empty totes were stolen. They were blue in color, marked with “Property of Walgreens.” The totes were empty at the time of the theft.
Spokane police asked that anyone with information about the crimes or who come across the totes to call Crime Check at 509-456-2233.
