SPOKANE, Wash. -- Just when you thought construction was wrapping up for the year, two new road projects were just getting underway in Spokane.  They're good areas to avoid for the next few weeks.

The first project is between 14th and 15th Avenues from Chestnut to Inland Empire Way. That whole area will be closed off. It will be repaved and sidewalks will be added.

The second one runs from Oak Street to Inland Empire Way around 28th Avenue. That area too will be repaved and is scheduled for sidewalk work.

The projects cost a combined total of nearly $400,000. Those detours should last about six weeks, weather permitting.
