Victor Barnard, 52, is charged with 59 counts of sexual misconduct with children. Court documents say he abused two members of his cult-like church where he was a pastor in Pine County, Minnesota. The abuse dates back to the year 2000, according to the investigation.
According the Pioneer Press in Minnesota, Barnard likened himself to Jesus and told one of his victims it was in "God's word" for him to have sex with her. Barnard would reportedly call girls to a lodge when he wanted to have sex with them and would order them to not tell anyone about it.
KREM 2 News has learned Barnard has apparently been around the Spokane area since 2012. According to sources, his wife is currently renting a home in the southern part of Spokane County.
Sources also said Barnard may visit a South Hill home that doubles as a Church on Sunday. An Elder linked to Barnard's church may be living in the home. Neighbors said they often see lots of people coming and going from the home, especially on Sundays
When a KREM 2 News crew knocked on the door, the blinds were abruptly closed and the occupants went out of sight.
Anyone who may know the whereabouts of Victor Barnard was asked to call Washington State Patrol Detective Ryan Spangler at (509) 227-6644.
