PULLMAN, Wash. – The Washington State University Board of Regents approved designs for a new visitor center on Friday morning.

The visitor center will be located on the west edge of the Pullman campus. The team of Sellen Construction and Olso/Kundig Architects, which was selected in February, outlined its vision for the center for the regents on Thursday afternoon.

Designs feature two-story letters spelling out WSU as well as interactive displays highlighting WSU’s academic research programs, donors and students.

The facility will be paid for from the sale of the former Cougar Depot building, private donations and funds from the WSU Land Sale Account; the cost is not to exceed $2.5 million.
