SPOKANE – Two people were transported to the hospital after a police pursuit ended in a crash.
Spokane Police were investigating reports of a stolen car in Northeast Spokane. While they were in the area, they heard a gun shot and saw a car whiz by recklessly.
Officers initiated a pursuit, but backed off because the car was driving dangerously.
Another officer saw the car blow across Division at Euclid. The officer said the car was going so fast, it became airborne.
The officer lost sight of the car.
By the time authorities saw the car again, it had crashed into another car at Post and Euclid.
Police said the driver ran off, and they chased him, arresting him a short distance away.
Nicholas O’Neil was taken into custody on charges of Vehicular Assault and Attempt to Allude.
The driver in the other car was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police said they found a handgun in the car O’Neil crashed, but they do not know if he is the person who fired off the shot they heard at the beginning of the incident.
