Charging documents say two officers tried to stop a sport utility vehicle in Spirit Lake for a traffic violation early on Dec. 5, but the driver fled. Idaho State Police Detective Gary Tolleson says the driver of the SUV shot at the officers twice. The chase ended when the SUV collided with a building and caught fire.

Endres was arrested after an eight-hour search.
