SPOKANE— After three years of construction, a much anticipated stretch of road connecting to major highways in North Spokane opens Wednesday.
The North Spokane corridor connects Highway 2 and Highway 395. The two mile stretch of road travels high above e the Wandermere Golf Course. Drivers will now be able to travel north from Francis in North Spokane all that way up from Highway 2 to Highway 395.
Crews also built pedestrian and bike paths along the road. The southbound lanes of the road are still under construction and are expected to open later this year.
The three year project cost $38 million.
