SEATTLE - Police describe the frightening moments when alleged shooter Aaron Ybarra walked into Otto Miller Hall and reportedly told a witness "he just shot someone outside and to not disrespect him."

Police said Ybarra killed one student and hurt two others, but student Jon Meis prevented more blood shed.

According to police documents, surveillance video shows Ybarra holding a long gun. Meis pops out and confronts Ybarra with a pepper spray gun, causing Ybarra to flinch. Meis then grabs Ybarra's gun and stores it in a room. Meanwhile Ybarra starts digging for something in his waistline. At that point on the video, Meis jumps on Ybarra and a second man helps hold the suspect down until officers arrive

The chaotic scene led to confusion because some witnesses thought Meis' pepper spray gun was a handgun and that a second shooter was on the loose. However, police realized there was only one true suspect and he was in custody.

Ybarra was cuffed and taken away by two officers who stated that the suspect told them he was not a student but "had taken a guided tour of the campus which is when he planned the attack."

Ybarra also reportedly said that inside his truck, parked on campus, they'd find a journal with information about the shooting. Inside that journal, one entry read, "I just want people to die."

As Ybarra was hauled away to police headquarters, he reportedly thanked officers, saying he thought they were going to "beat him and kick him in the skull." Instead, officers washed the pepper spray off his face before he was booked into jail.
