SPOKANE, Wash. -- A Spokane policeman who is under investigation has resigned and the Spokane County prosecutor's office is deciding if charges against the officer are warranted.
Police Chief Frank Straub said Tuesday that Officer Jeff Graves has resigned effective immediately.
The department placed Graves on leave last month after a woman complained that he was stalking and harassing her after they met on Facebook.
Graves was placed on administrative leave on May 9th, pending the outcome of an internal affairs and criminal investigation. SPD officials said a second internal affairs complaint was received subsequent to his placement on administrative leave.
SPD leaders said Graves resigned in lieu of the Department completing the two internal affairs investigations.
The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office and the Spokane Police Department have completed the investigation into criminal allegations made against Graves. The completed investigation has been forwarded to the Spokane County Prosecutor for review according to SPD leaders.
