COEUR d'ALENE -- Coeur d'Alene Police are searching for a man who tried to rob a bank early this morning.

Police say a man approached an employee coming into the Mountain West Bank on at 125 W. Ironwood for work around 6:50 a.m. and went inside with her.

Police say he never showed a weapon but it was presumed he had one.

Surveillance images show him walking close behind her as she enters and leaves the bank.

The suspect got away with a small amount of cash from the woman, not the bank. She was not hurt and called police.

Police say the suspect is described as a male, about 6'0" tall of medium build. He was wearing a well kept brown coat, camouflage gloves, a dark colored Hooded sweatshirt and his face was covered. They say the man got in a white Cadillac with Montana license plates.

The FBI is now on scene investigating.

If you see a vehicle that matches that description, call police.
