BOISE, Idaho -- The pilot of United Airlines flight 1603 traveling from Houston to Seattle died of an apparent heart attack Thursday night.
Flight 1603 made an emergency landing in Boise, Idaho after the crew had reported the pilot suffered a heart attack.
Passengers on the plane say that a passenger who is a doctor along with a couple of Army soldiers assisted in performing CPR on the pilot until emergency aid crews took over. There was also a passenger who trains Boeing 737 pilots to fly that assisted the copilot with landing in Boise.
A spokeswoman at Saint Alphonsus Hospital in Boise confirmed the pilot’s death Friday morning.
The 160 passengers and four other crew members on flight 1603 did make it to Seattle safely.
