BOUNDARY COUNTY, Idaho-- Scammers have struck Boundary County posing at the Publisher’s Clearing House, and look to rip off local residents.

The plot starts with a phone call from a very professional sounding person claiming to be from Publisher's Clearing House, according to authorities.  The crooks then attempt to get the victim to share personal information.

Publisher's Clearing House never contacts winners by telephone.

Officials warn anyone who receives a call from a distant relative or sweepstakes organization to be very cautious of what they share.

Authorities asked victims to report phony calls to its website in an effort to catch the people responsible.
