SILVERTON, Idaho -- When a then 21-year-old Glen Ogden introduced himself to then 17-year-old Arvilla in 1936, he did not know he was looking at his future wife.

“He saw me from across the way and he asked me to dance, so I did,” Arvilla said.

After a few dates, the two tied the knot on May 2, 1936. They road to their wedding in a ’31 Ford Roadster.

“It seems like a long time and sometimes it seems like yesterday,” Glen said.

Five kids, 15 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren later, the two are celebrating 76 years of wedded bliss.

Along the way there have been some minor bumps in the road.

“We stopped sleeping together because he kept taking all the covers,” Arvilla said.

But even with the cover-hogging, there is still one thing that will never change. The 97-year-old husband and his 94-year-old wife are still two kids madly in love.
