NEWPORT, Wash.--Newport High School will reopen on Wednesday after a small fire at the school on Friday shut the school down for a few days.

School officials said they have passed all clean air checks by air quality officials and the building was deemed clean and safe for students. School officials added there was still a slight odor of smoke that remained in the building.

Meals will be served at Stratton Elementary for those eating hot lunch. Officials asked that parents dress their children appropriately for the short walk to the elementary school.

Officials added if your child experiences respiratory issues, to contact school authorities to set up alternative plans.
