SPOKANE--Police are warning people living in Downtown Spokane homeless camps to pack up before Friday afternoon.

A new city policy, posted around noon Thursday, is forcing homeless people to pickup their tents within 24 hours.  Officers explained the policy and will be back Friday to make sure everyone complies.  They could be forced to arrest those who don’t comply.

Social workers are trying to help the homeless groups find temporary housing.
