SPOKANE, Wash. -- Gonzaga University is marking its 125-year history with a new tradition: National Gonzaga Day.
Gonzaga alumni and fans will gather in 30 sites around the world on Thurs., Jan. 24 to celebrate. That includes locations in Africa, Asia and Europe.
Locally, Gonzaga will show both basketball games at the Spokane Convention Center beginning at 6 p.m. The school encourages Bulldogs everywhere to wear their Gonzaga gear.
The day began with an outdoor midnight mass celebration. The school plans on a fireworks show in the skies above the school as a grand finale to National Gonzaga Day.
