NEW YORK -- The Washington girl who was found wandering in Manhattan two weeks ago has an Eastern Washington connection.
According to the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office, 18-year-old Kacie Peterson’s father lives in Colville. They say Petersoon and her dad do not get along. She then decided to live with a family friend in Kitsap County. The family friend is the person who called police to report Peterson missing.
Peterson then took off when she found out her father was headed to Western Washington. Police say Peterson’s bank account had been drained. That led them to believe she was not in any danger and chose to leave on her own.
It’s still unclear how Peterson made the long trek from Washington to Manhattan.
