SPOKANE, Wash.—Hundreds of people packed Auntie’s Bookstore on Sunday in hopes to meet local NBA star John Stockton.

This was Stockton’s only stop to sign his autobiography around the country. Nearly 400 people came out. Fans said the wait to meet Stockton was worth it.

"To see a hall of famer and get a basketball signed-it's pretty good,” said Stockton fan Chip Cathcart.

Stockton is a NBA Hall of Famer and ten time NBA All Star. He played basketball at Gonzaga University in the 1980’s.

Stockton promoted his new autobiography and signed books.

One man flew in from San Francisco to get his 40th signature for his poster with the 50 best NBA players of all time.

"I played basketball, high school. That's about it. Just love the sport,” said David Chang.

Chang has spent 13 years traveling to events like the one in Spokane to collect autographs.

"You're excited, every time you come across your quote on quote heroes,” said Chang.

Chang said the Stockton book signing will not be his last. He has a few more signatures to go.

"You know they say the last ones are the hardest ones to get. And you hope for the opportunity and if there's one, hopefully I'll be there,” said Chang.

Fans walked away with all kinds of signed memorabilia like basketballs and posters.
