NASCAR legend riding for charity in Coeur d'Alene

COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho-- NASCAR legend Kyle Petty arrived in Kootenai County on Friday to trade in the circle track for the open road on Saturday. Petty will join dozens of friends riding motorcycles from Coeur d'Alene to Tempe, Arizona.

The money raised by the ride sends kids fighting medical issues to camp for free. The Victory Junction camp is located in North Carolina.

This is the 19th year of Petty’s ride. However, it is the first time the ride following the route from Idaho to Arizona. Petty has raised $14 million and sent 17,000 kids to camp.

The ride leaves Coeur d’Alene at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday.
