N. Spokane Shopko pharmacy robbed

SPOKANE, Wash.—A pharmacy in North Spokane was robbed on Sunday. It is one of many recent burglaries in the Spokane area.

The pharmacy at Shopko at 9520 N. Newport Highway was robbed just before 6:00 p.m.

Police said the suspect did not show any weapons.

Officials describe the suspect as a white male, 5’8-5’10”, with dark eyes and hair and was wearing a black winter coat with a hood. Police also said the suspect had light stubble and looked like he had not shaved for a few days. They believe the man was 20 to 25-years-old.

Police said the suspect entered the store, demanded prescription medication and fled.

Police said the robbery does not seem to be related to previous pharmacy robberies in the Spokane area.

Other pharmacy robberies in the first 12 days of the New Year include a robbery at an Albertsons at 12312 N. Division, a Safeway at 3919 N. Market, a Fred Meyer at 400 S. Thor, 5th and Browne Pharmacy at 104 W. 5th Avenue, another Albertsons at 6520 N. Nevada Street and the Shopko on Newport Highway.
