KREM 2 on Your Side told you about solar roadways fundraising efforts that launched back in April. Scott and Julie Brusaw hoped to raise $1 million to start a manufacturing facility in North Idaho.

Almost 37,000 people from 42 countries have helped the couple reach their goal. They have already raised $1.6 million.

They hope to replace all asphalt roads and parking lots with solar roadways. They said the system would pay for itself by powering the country with energy from the sun.
