SPOKANE – Firefighters spent Sunday night mopping up three separate brush fires that broke out in Northeast Spokane.
Crews started getting calls around 6:15 p.m. about smoke on Beacon Hill. When they arrived, they found three fires in three different locations. Two of the fires were less than one acre in size. A third fire near the top of the hill was larger, burning about two acres.
Authorities said the fires were suspicious, and the cause remains under investigation. They determined each of them broke out within a two minute time period.
Firefighters contained the flames within two hours.
