BOUNDARY COUNTY, Idaho—The father of a 20-year-old who went missing January 1st found his son’s body Saturday near Deep Creek in Bonners Ferry.
The victim, James Sandborn, likely died early the morning of New Year’s Day from hypothermia according to Boundary County Sheriff’s Office.
Sandborn allegedly went missing after leaving a friend’s house on Sandy Ridge Road near Naples according to police.
Police said Sandborn’s father, John Sandborn, and his sons made the discovery after remembering James’ favorite swimming spot at Deer Creek.
Boundary Search and Dive and Boundary County Sheriff’s Posse employed aircraft, K-9 units and full time Sheriff’s Deputies in their search for the victim. Police said they did not believe there was any foul play involved.
