Residents of a North Spokane apartment complex said there was an apparent foot pursuit for the suspects. Witnesses said a baby was being taken from a car that was driven by the suspects.
“I heard sirens and I stepped out of my back door and a guy ran right past my back porch door, looked at me, jumped over the cliff and took off running down the hill,” said neighbor john Svavarson.
Police said a witness in the McDonald’s drive-thru called police with a vehicle description and followed the car as long as they could.
Authorities said a female was driving the silver pick-up with a baby inside. A man inside the car fled from the car and was chased by police. It is not clear if the baby was in the car when the robbery took place.
Police finally caught the suspect near an apartment complex along Country Homes near Francis. They said witnesses helped identify the suspect and he was taken in for questioning.
Major Crime’s detectives are working on getting a search warrant on the suspect’s vehicle.
This is the third fast food robbery in the past week. On Wednesday, the Wendy’s on Newport Highway was robbed and Tuesday night the McDonald’s on Monroe also robbed at gunpoint.
Detectives are looking into the possibility that the suspects could be related to the other robberies.
