SPOKANE, Wash. -- The May heat helped fill restaurant patios this week. Business owners said the heat created a surge in extra diners.
“Our patio is open every night and it's full, we have a wait, people specifically want to sit outside," said Charisse Haynes who works at South Perry Pizza.
Temperatures climbed into the 80s on Tuesday allowing restaurants all over Spokane to open extra patio seating.
“For us it's actually a second restaurant because we're adding 25 seats to the patio in addition to the 25 inside," said John Brogna at EJ’s Garden Bistro.
Haynes said they have already served more people outside than last May.
