GEORGE, Wash. -- Investigators asked for the public’s help to track down armed robbers who held up Sandoval’s Food Store Thursday night.
The Grant County Sheriff’s Office said four gunmen entered the store on the 400 block of Frontage Road around 8 p.m., forced the two store clerks to hand over the store’s cash, and then tied them up. A customer who entered the store during the robbery was also tied up. There were no reports of injuries.
Authorities said the suspects took off in a black 2002 Chevy Avalanche which the men had parked in front of the store during the robbery. The vehicle was found abandoned a short distance away. Investigators believe the suspects likely took one or more vehicles from that point to escape.
Authorities also said the Chevy Avalanche was reported stolen out of the Tri-Cities so the suspects may have been headed back to that area.
Anyone who may have seen something suspicious near Sandoval’s market Thursday night or who may have information about the robbery was asked to immediately call the Grant County Sheriff’s Office at (509) 762-1160.
