SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. -- Spokane Valley officials arrested a man accused of stealing over $200 worth of alcohol from Safeway Friday evening.

Authorities said Tevan Williams, 23, stole $217 worth of alcohol from the Safeway at Argonne and Mission. Officials said a customer tried to stop him from leaving the store and was assaulted by Williams.

Police said they tracked Williams with a K9 and found him hiding in some bushes in front of a home on the 1700 block of North Locust.

Williams was wanted on a felony auto theft charge.
