SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash.--- One person was rushed to the hospital late Thursday after being shot in a Spokane Valley parking lot.

It happened just before 11:30 p.m. in the Hobby Lobby parking lot near Indiana and Evergreen.

The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office said it started as an altercation on Sullivan and Broadway between people in two cars.  One car drove away from that scene but became disabled a short time later in the Hobby Lobby parking lot.  That is when the suspect vehicle drove by and shot at the victim’s car, according to authorities.

The male victim suffered non-life threatening injuries.  So far, no arrests have been made. The suspect vehicle is described as a black car.

Authorities said the people involved may have gang ties or gang affiliation, but stopped short of calling it gang related.  However, the Spokane Violent Crimes Gang Enforcement Team is investigating any leads in the case.  Anyone with information is encouraged to call 625-GANG.
