MOSES LAKE, Wash. – A 34-year-old Quincy man was killed Tuesday when he was run over by a farm tractor.
Around 7:30 p.m., emergency responders were called to property owned by Friehe Farms near County Road 4-Northeast and County Road R-Northeast, about seven miles east of Moses Lake.
Deputies learned the victim, Steve Weil, an employee of Simplot Soilbuilders, was helping Friehe Farms prepare soil. For an unknown reason, investigators said Weil tried to climb aboard a moving tractor driven by another man. Weil fell and was run over by the left rear tire. Authorities said Weil died at the scene.
The Grant County Coroner planned an autopsy on the man’s body Wednesday.
The Washington Department of Labor and Industries is investigating.
