QUINCY, Washington -- A man died after an apparent drowning in Quincy Lakes Sunday afternoon.
Emergency responders were called to the Evergreen Reservoir portion of the Lakes, seven miles south of Quincy, around 1:40 p.m. Witnesses said they heard the elderly man yell out for help, but by the time the bystanders arrived at the reservoir’s edge they could not see him. The man’s body was recovered later by Sheriff’s Search and Rescue divers.
“I feel so sad for this man’s family, and I pray they can find peace,” said Grant County Sheriff Tom Jones.
Investigators said there was no indication of foul play.
The body of the victim, a Grant County resident whose age is around 75, was sent to the Grant County Coroner to rule on the cause and manner of death.
