SPOKANE, Wash. -- Fire officials said Friday a man had died of injuries he suffered in a fire at a home in North Spokane over the weekend.

Authorities said Gregory Paul Case, 61, died as a result of burns and smoke inhalation.  Case’s death is the City of Spokane’s first fire-related fatality in 2014.

Case was one of two people injured in the early morning fire Jan. 19 at a four-plex near N. Standard Street and E. Euclid Avenue.  Fire officials said a woman suffered a minor knee injury and was treated at Deaconess Hospital in Spokane.
