STEVENS COUNTY, Wash--Washington State Patrol responded around 10pm Saturday to a fatal wreck on State Route 395 just south of Chewelah.
The victim 28-year-old, Clint T. Yarber, drove off the northbound shoulder and hit the guardrail at the Colville River Bridge according to patrol officers.
Yarber was driving a 2001 two door Ford Escort. Officials said he was not wearing a seatbelt.
Washington State Patrol said the cause of the collision is being investigated. It is unknown whether drugs or alcohol were involved in the collision.
Northbound lanes of the freeway were closed for three hours while crews cleared the road.
