SPOKANE, Wash.--James Henrikson is linked in court documents to possibly contracting the murder of South Hill businessman Doug Carlile. He’s also accused of changing his name multiple times to conceal his criminal past.
Henrikson has a lengthy criminal record. Those who know Henrikson said he would go to extreme lengths to conceal it. They said he has several different ways he would spell his name. They said he even had some completely different names to fool people.
Those that know Henrikson said he is the kind of guy that cannot stay in the same place for long.

Henrikson’s criminal history includes drugs, theft, assault and burglary.
Court documents show Henrikson also goes by the name Cole Johnson. Sources said Henrikson is known to change the spelling of his last name, sometimes spelling it “Henrickson” or “Henricksen.” They said he does it in an effort to conceal his various run ins with the law.

Court records show detectives believe Henrikson contracted the murder of Carlile. He has yet to be charged with involvement in that crime.
Detectives are hopeful some phone records will help. Spokane police are combing through multiple cell phone records, even some from potential throwaway phones.

Detectives were specifically searching for records the night of the murder on Henrikson’s cell phone from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Henrikson will be in a federal courtroom for an unrelated weapons charge on Friday in North Dakota.
