SPOKANE, Wash. -- Crime investigators are now looking into a local fire.
Firefighters responded to the fire in the 300 block of East Rich Christmas morning around 6 a.m.
The fire department says crews arrived to find the house filled with smoke and the homeowner incoherent inside.
Flames from several small fires did not spread to the exterior of the house, but the interior suffered smoke and heat damage.
The fire department says Jeffrey A. Stephens, 43, lit at least twelve small fires in his home.
Stephens is now charged with first-degree arson.
