SPOKANE, Wash. -- A man accused of trying to shoot another man following a drug deal gone wrong was found guilty on Thursday. He was convicted of First Degree Assault and Second Degree Assault With Weapons Enhancement charges.
Damien Johnson was arrested for a March shooting on charges of First Degree Attempted Murder. Authorities said he fired several shots at Denis Kozubenko after an alleged drug deal near Baldwin and Hamilton. Johnson's trial began on Monday.
Those close with Kozubenko told KREM 2 News that the drug deal was over oxycodone. No one was injured, but Kozubanko’s truck was hit according to sources.
