SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. -- A local mother and son were facing charges for allegedly attacking Sheriff’s deputies.
Investigators said deputies were responding to a domestic violence call at a home near 5th Avenue and Carnahan Monday when Nancy Picariello, 46, started taking swings at them. As deputies tried to detain the woman, authorities said her 17-year-old son also began pushing them.
Both Picariello and her son were arrested without any serious injuries occurring to them or the deputies.
The woman's 21-year-old daughter told investigators the two suspects were smoking meth and had been out of control.
Picariello and her son faced assault, resisting arrest, and obstruction charges.
Picariello does not have many fans on her Spokane Valley block.
“It's just a never ending deal. If you were here at night, you'd see it every night,” said one neighbor.
Picariello was supposed to be in court on Tuesday but officials said she was unable to attend for an undisclosed issue. She is facing charges from her latest family drama.
Neighbors said typically Picariello’s victims are her own relatives.
“Oh they all get high together,” said a neighbor.
Deputies have responsed to the home three times in one month.
Picariello has no criminal history in Spokane superior court. Officials said they will try to get her in court again on Wednesday.
