POST FALLS, Idaho -- A man accused of killing his wife and daughter made his first appearance in court Wednesday.
Post Falls Police arrested Angel Morales-Larrana, 24, on Tuesday. Authorities found his 24-year-old wife and 5-year-old daughter strangled to death at the family’s apartment.
Morales-Larrana appeared calm in the courtroom as a judge read aloud the murder charges he faced.
The prosecutor mentioned testimonies Wednesday from neighbors and friends who said Morales-Larrana admitted to strangling his wife and child.
Witnesses said they also saw him taking his two other children away from the crime scene.
A taxi driver who knows the suspect described him as a “party type,” since he would frequently pick up Morales-Larrana from different homes and bars in the area.
The man said he was surprised to see Morales-Larrana accused of murder.
“He was always awesome. “He was a really cool guy. He always tipped really well,” said Terry Bailey with Coeur D'Alene Taxi. “So it was kind of crazy to read what I read.”
Morales-Larrana is being held on $2 million bond for two counts of murder.
His two other children were taken into protective custody.
