Lincoln County Plane Crash
LINCOLN COUNTY, Wash. -- Lincoln County and surrounding areas will hold a moment of silence Tuesday in respect of three Navy personnel killed in a plane crash.
The Lincoln Co. Board of Commissioners asks for residents to honor the moment of silence at 11 a.m. This coincides will the start of a memorial service planned at Whidbey Island Naval Base.
An EA-6B Prowler jet fell from the sky last Monday during a routine training flight.
Lt. Junior Grade Valerie Cappelaere Delaney, Lt. Junior Grade William Brown McIlvaine III and Lt. Commander Alan A. Patterson died in the crash. They belonged to the Electronic Attack Squadron 129 (VAQ-129) on Whidbey Island.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
