LEWISTON, Idaho -- Lewiston Police say the Jennifer Junior High was placed on lockdown after a person said they saw a man walking on to the campus with a rifle.
Police say the person called around 1 p.m. Friday and said a white male in his 20's with facial hair wearing a dark shirt and jeans was walking toward the school with a rifle slung over his shoulder.
The witness said the suspect also had an green pick-up with a boat.
Officers immediately explained the situation to the school and the administration immediately went into lockdown.
Authorities inspected all of the roads and alleys in the area and did not locate anyone matching the description.
The school lifted the lockdown just before the school day was over.
Officers remained on scene to ensure the safety of the students.
