SPOKANE, Wash. -- Authorities released additional details Monday about their investigation into a deadly May 16th shooting involving Spokane Police Department Officers.

The SIRR Team is investigating the shooting death of Justin Cairns.  He was shot in Nine Mile Falls by police officers. Police tracked the homicide suspect to Nine Miles Falls from the scene of a North Spokane Murder.

Investigators interviewed two of the three officers involved on Monday.  Authorities said arrangements are being made for the third officer’s interview.

Officers Adam Valdez, Dan Lesser, and Jake Jensen were all put on administrative leave pending the investigation. Officers Adam Valdez and Dan Lesser were involved in previous officer-involved shootings in Spokane.

Authorities said found a .380 semi-automatic weapon near the Nine Mile Falls scene. The gun was discovered inside Cairns’ bedroom at 22007 W. Charles Road according to investigators. They added that a BB gun, closely resembling a handgun, was located at the back of the residence where officers saw Cairns during the foot pursuit.
