SPOKANE, Wash. -- Washington state Governor Jay Inslee was in Spokane Wednesday for the launch of the Washington Healthplanfinder Mobile Enrollment Tour.
Inslee previously made stops in Spokane in May. On May 8th, the governor attended the Lilac Parade and visited Mobius Science Center. Inslee’s trip to the area later that month, on May 28th, included stops at Fairchild Airforce Base and the Palouse Wind farm on State Route 195 near Oakesdale.
On Wednesday, the Health Benefit Exchange tour began to encourage people to sign up. Nearly one million people in Washington State did not have health insurance or were under-insured, according to the website.
A team of certified assistors was scheduled to man a truck outside of the Native Health clinic on Maxwell Avenue from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The kickoff event in Spokane was planned as the first stop on a statewide tour.
