OROFINO, Idaho-- An escaped inmate of the Idaho Correctional Institution-Orofino was captured Friday.
Michael Dean Henderson, 47, escaped between 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m., according to the Idaho Department of Corrections.
Henderson was spotted shortly before 4 p.m. on Highway 12 near Mountain Motor Sports. He was detained and taken into custody at the Clearwater County Sheriff’s Office.
Henderson was convicted for possession of a controlled substance, trafficking by attempting to manufacture and grant theft in Kootenai and Bonner Counties. He was scheduled for release in 2024, but was being considered for parole.
Investigators are working to determine how he escaped.
